Join us for the book launch of Dogs in Early Photography by John Koh, on Thursday 14 November 2024, 5-6.30pm, at the Weston Library in Oxford.

A noted book collector, John Koh has spent years building a vast private collection of photographs and other historical ephemera, including the many 19th-century photographs of dogs which are presented in this new book. John has long been a friend of the Bodleian and is a member of the Bodleian Advisory Board. His collection is being given to the Bodleian’s growing collections of early photography.

Join us to hear John discuss the parallel trajectory of dog ownership and early photography from 17:00-17:45 in the Sir Victor Blank Lecture Theatre, followed by a drinks reception to celebrate. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with fellow photography enthusiasts – and dog lovers!

During the reception, John will be signing copies of his book, which will be available for purchase in the Weston Library book shop prior to the event.
